A one-of-a-kind handmade belt buckle honoring the historic Virginia & Truckee Railroad, cast by the Gold Hill Foundry. The Gold Hill Foundry operated in Virginia City, Nevada during the 1860s and 1870s, established in 1864 during the legendary Comstock Lode era, giving this piece genuine Old West and railroad heritage appeal. As an OOAK cast piece, it carries the texture and individuality of true foundry work. Condition shows some visible brass patina and noticeable scuffing consistent with a handmade cast buckle - see photos. A wonderful collectible for railroadiana enthusiasts, Nevada and Comstock history buffs, and Western collectors. Fits a standard 1.5 inch belt strap with bar-and-hook back hardware. A rare, story-rich buckle and a standout gift for the train lover or history collector.
